SIPP Overview

Spectrum Innovates Pathway Program (SIPP) is a new model of transition for autistic individuals who share a passion for aviation, aerospace, engineering and related STEM fields.

Individuals of multifaceted talents, ability and creativity, autistics have enormous potential to fill the shortage of skilled job candidates in the talent pipeline. Spectrum Innovates Pathway Program participants experience how they can tap their passions to meet the practical needs of current and emerging job markets, opening a path to sustained fulfilling employment and adult independence. Partnering with supporters who envision a future where autistics are deemed an essential part of our world is critical to attain our goal.

Goal oriented thinking, problem solving, self-advocacy, self-regulation, context awareness, perspective taking, collaboration and communication emerge and are utilized as a natural consequence of engaging in work in the Innovation Hub environment.

By immersing students in their special interests to engage their strengths, SIPP increases their options for careers in these fields and related areas such as cyber security, coding, mechanics, mechatronics, robotics, UAV's (drones), meteorology, animation and digital technology. This comprehensive 12-month, college credit bearing certificate program, which culminates with a 6-week residency experience, gives autistics an unprecedented opportunity to pursue higher education, achieve sustained employment and lead fulfilling lives.

SIPP is located at Vaughn College’s state of the art facility adjacent to LaGuardia Airport in New York City.
